Planning Application Number 2005/62/93609/E3

A Planning application has been submitted to Kirklees Council to construct a Wind Power Station at a site off Pool Hill Lane, Denby Dale.

The proposed turbines are understood to be two VESTAS V90 2MW turbines, 125 metres (410ft) tall from ground to blade tip with 90 metre diameter blades. They would be much bigger than the turbines at Royds Moor, Ingbirchworth. The rotor turns at a speed of between 9 and 19 rev/min. The emitted sound power is 104.4dB at a wind speed of 8m/s.

This private venture would sell electricity to the National Grid for profit.

Each person has the right to object and to comment upon the scheme (residents, and people who work in the area as well as tourists and visitors, walkers, cyclists, horse riders, runners etc.) The number of separate objections received by Kirklees may influence the decision as to whether or not to grant the planning application.
